WHAT VALENTINE’S DAY CAN TEACH OUR GIRLS – LNGB COMMUNITY OUTREACH 2017

Group_valentines project 2017

One of the reasons that we chose our Valentine’s Day community outreach program as one of our annual LNGB community service projects is to encourage our girls to find meaning in Valentine’s Day besides the superficial giving-and-receiving expectation usually associated with it. By giving roses and cards to the women (and often men and children too!) in the hospital, the girls could make Valentine’s Day their own, giving it significance beyond the commercialism it is known for. The 2017 project had a great impact on the girls, many of whom were first-time LNGB Power Circle members. The joy of giving and making a difference could clearly be seen. The pictures speak volumes.
